This one is made up and has a major error. My eyesight is bad and so is the lighting in my sewing area. You can see the second from left star has a piece of material sewn on backwards. I will have to remove and sew in correctly before I can layer and quilt. It will have another 5 inch border of the center star material on the outside to make it a twin size quilt, making it 71 x 55. Not really large. My ADD doesnt allow for large projects. Half way thru one quilt I am planning the next and next. This one will have the high loft batting and continuous baptist quilting I think. Whenever I make something really nice I always want to give it to my Aunt. If my mom were alive it would be for her. She is gone so Marcia is number one now. She gets the best of everything I make.

More quilting
I am learning about color and how to use it in the quilts. Not doing so great yet. The dark blue in this one was wrong. Should have been a lighter color. This time I did cut and sew one square first. Next time will do 3 or four to really see how it will look first.
I used the slim cotton batting for this and wish I had used the high loft. It is too thin for my taste.

I found some invisible thread at Walmart and used that one the darker colors. I like it a lot but you only get 500 ft per spool. And it isnt too great to use becuase you cant back tack, or not on my Pfaff anyway.
This one is in the works now, cutting it out today with very similar colors since I like it so much.

This one is next. Then its all Christmas runners and wall hangings and such for the family. I have lots of red and greens. Everyone loves Xmas stuff.

Grandmother's Fan Quilt
It doesnt look like much but this a really time consuming pattern to make. The pinwheels were play compared to this. I wish I had realized how hard it would be, I would have not used scraps. I wanted to use up a bunch of the scraps that were too small to make anything with. The fans are so time consuming that I know I wont be making another one of these soon. If I had known I would have made it much nicer materials for all the trouble it has been.
This is a vintage pattern that I have always wanted to make. Finally got the pattern and stupid me used scraps. Crap.

I have 52 squares made, there are supposed to be 72 but I dont think I can do another 20. Its so hard for me. My add kicks in if a projects takes more than a few days.
Here is what it could look like. This pattern is online and in a qm magazine I have. I truly loved the lavender and yellow of the original vintage one and the border is exquisite. Mine wont be so nice as I used these crappy scraps. I think if I do some really beautiful qulting on it though it will be salvagable.
Got this from here and its on the todo list now as well. I love this website so much. http://www.quilterscache.com/P/PatchworkButterflyBlock.html

Pinwheel for Dad
I found this pattern in one of the quilters books that Kathy gave me. Its for my Aunt Marcia for her quest bedroom.
Update: She doesnt like country so no quilts for her since quilts are country. Will have to make some handmade edging for pillow cases or something.
This is a plaid quilt with Scotties in the big squares for my dad. Ileft the unfinished quilt hanging over the ironing board last night and the dog chewed the edges of the batting. He is banished outside in the heat for the day.

Pinwheel Quilt for grandson
This is a simple pinwheel pattern that I sort of made up. The picture shows it pinned to the batting and the backing and I am tacking it down with a long stitch of cotton thread to hold in place so I can actually do the quilting on the sewing machine. Just in the ditch stitches alongside the seams. This is the medium loft batting for more plumpness.

Friday July 27th, I completed this Wednesday night but couldnt take pictures until this morning. It came out quite as good as I can expect for my first time quilt.
