Grandmother's Fan Quilt

It doesnt look like much but this a really time consuming pattern to make. The pinwheels were play compared to this. I wish I had realized how hard it would be, I would have not used scraps. I wanted to use up a bunch of the scraps that were too small to make anything with. The fans are so time consuming that I know I wont be making another one of these soon. If I had known I would have made it much nicer materials for all the trouble it has been.

This is a vintage pattern that I have always wanted to make. Finally got the pattern and stupid me used scraps. Crap.

I have 52 squares made, there are supposed to be 72 but I dont think I can do another 20. Its so hard for me. My add kicks in if a projects takes more than a few days.

Here is what it could look like. This pattern is online and in a qm magazine I have. I truly loved the lavender and yellow of the original vintage one and the border is exquisite. Mine wont be so nice as I used these crappy scraps. I think if I do some really beautiful qulting on it though it will be salvagable.

Got this from here and its on the todo list now as well. I love this website so much. http://www.quilterscache.com/P/PatchworkButterflyBlock.html
